Domo Hotel offers new life to one of the famous landmarks of Playa Pelada. The renovation of this historic building, completed in 2024, focused on honoring the original architecture while bringing comfortable, high end finishes to a new boutique hotel. With grand arches and the unique architectural feature of a beautiful dome, Domo Hotel offers a Mediterranean vibe in the jungle of Costa Rica.
Domo Hotel was designed responsibly making use of the original footprint, not overextending development. The 2024 renovation supported local designers, architects and trades. Most of the materials and products you find in the hotel come from Costa Rica. Every detail of the space was thoughtfully curated to enhance your visit to beautiful Nosara.
Our Story
We come from the land of “y’all.” In Charleston, South Carolina we make eye contact, say please and thank you and create community by offering a cold drink on a hot day.
Our family started vacationing in Nosara in 2016 when we discovered surfing. We enjoyed the undeveloped beaches, beautiful ocean, vibrant nature and the generous people of Nosara. For years, we dreamed of spending an extended time here. In the fall of 2021, we left the US for a year of travel with plans to begin our adventure in Nosara. And we never left.
The Nosara community is a unique blend of Nosareños, Ticos and expats who together share a love for the nature of this special place and the people in it. We surf, eat healthy food, strengthen our bodies, practice languages, embrace new experiences, laugh, and raise our children together.
Our family is inspired and excited to bring new life to this historic landmark in Playa Pelada. Domo Hotel offers beautiful boutique hotel suites paired with southern hospitality, minutes from the town and beaches of Playa Pelada.
